new year's resolution declutter your life

Join Simple Adventure For Your New Year’s Resolution

We all have the best of intentions when the new year rolls around. It’s common to make a new year’s resolution in order to change our lives for the better.

The concept of decluttering is something that appeals to many people. But when it comes down to it, there is work, effort, and time involved in intentional decluttering. By that, I mean the kind of declutter and purge that will create a lifestyle change and not just clutter that leaves and eventually creeps back to crowd our homes and lives.

We can all agree on some level that physical ‘stuff’ isn’t what will bring real happiness and meaning. For me, minimalism is a tool that helps me strip away the excess and see what is really necessary. It looks different for each person depending on their lifestyle, goals, and stage in life. In my own life, minimalism involves removing the clutter in my house to make more space in our rooms and budget (and cleaning schedule!). It means objectively looking at the calendar and saying no to activities that only cause busyness and don’t add true value to my life. And it means cultivating gratitude and contentment to enjoy every day and love the people around me.

So if you’re looking for a new year’s resolution, one thing that will definitely change your life is minimalism! If you’ve been reading and learning about minimalism and decluttering and want to take the plunge – now is the time!

I’m excited to announce a new Simple Adventure series for January called…

New Year’s Resolution: Declutter Your Life

Every day in January, there will be a short post with one area to minimize and declutter. There will be tips and tricks, encouraging articles to read, and some advice on how to proceed. Each image and challenge will also be on the Simple Adventure facebook page.
